Sandton Tycoon Busted in DJ Sumbody’s Chilling Murder Case After 2 Years of Silence

South Africa was rocked this afternoon by breaking news that could finally bring justice to the long-unsolved murder of beloved Pretoria music icon DJ Sumbody.

Katiso “KT” Molefe, a well-known Sandton businessman, was arrested at his home today, 21 July 2025, in connection with the brazen 2022 killing of DJ Sumbody, real name Oupa John Sefoka.

The popular amapiano pioneer was gunned down in a hail of bullets in Woodmead, Johannesburg, during the early hours of 20 November 2022. The coordinated hit also claimed the life of one of his loyal bodyguards. For nearly two years, the case had gone cold — until now.

According to News24, Molefe’s arrest is being hailed as a major breakthrough. He joins three other suspectsMichael Pule Tau, Musa Kekana, and Tlego Floyd Mabusela — who were already behind bars for their alleged role in the 2024 assassination of underworld figure Armand Swart.

Shockingly, Molefe was already out on bail for unrelated charges when he was nabbed by police. Investigators believe he may have played a central role in planning DJ Sumbody’s murder, but the true motive remains unclear. Authorities are now exploring whether the late DJ’s business dealings and possible links to the underworld could have made him a target.

The arrest has reignited interest in the high-profile case, which devastated fans and colleagues in the entertainment world. Many had feared DJ Sumbody’s killers would never be brought to justice — until now.

The four suspects are expected to appear in court soon, and police say this could be the tip of the iceberg as deeper connections and motives come to light.
